About Rachio
Rachio was born in 2012 as a start-up focused on a single mission: bringing artificial intelligence to residential irrigation. The flagship product, the Rachio 3 controller, was the first of its kind to integrate real-time weather forecasts, local evapotranspiration data and dynamic schedules that adapt day by day.
The Rachio approach is fundamentally different from traditional brands: instead of watering on a fixed schedule, the system calculates how much water the soil actually needs based on temperature, humidity, soil type and vegetation. Independent tests show average water savings of 30–50% compared with conventional controllers.
For users of SprinklerMap who want to complete their project with a truly smart control system, Rachio is the most advanced choice on the consumer market. The only drawbacks are the price — among the highest in the category — and the dependence on internet connectivity for weather features.
